Welcome

I want to begin by saying thank you. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this blog.

A little history…

I have started a few different types of blogs on a variety of social websites. I have given up on hobbies by putting too much expectation in them that could be handled at certain times in life. Started and stopped hobbies in which I find passion and creativity. I have given up on them, because I want them to become more. I want to feel successful in my hobbies. You see the problem there? They are hobbies- I should just be entertained and finding joy in them. Yet, I set up expectations and set up myself to feel like a failure.

Turning point….

This past year has been revolutionary. I found myself complaining, being negative, and holding grudges (I still do often- I AM human and am working on it). I was looking for purpose in people and things. This year, the light bulb turned on and I have FINALLY found who and what my purpose is in- AND at this point in time, that is what this blog is about. Letting Jesus in and letting go of expectations. Finding joy in life and letting go of worries and anxieties. Sharing my (His) story, thoughts and ideas instead of keeping to myself.

A tidbit about me:

My name is Jessica. I am trekking on this Adventure called Life with, my sweet and supportive husband, Allen. We have two kids. They are 4 and 2. I hope you enjoy getting to know them and their personalities! My family keeps me on my toes, and there are times I never know what to expect.

Now, about those hobbies..

I find joy in capturing stories. I love taking pictures of old buildings, landscape, trees, you name it AND I want to tell a story with it. Exercise is another passion. Finding the words to express what exercise means to this mama of two curious boys, is beyond me. However, my hope is to spread some inspiration and share why exercise is soo important. Lastly, I find joy in finding new ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Now, I will be honest and report that I have fallen off that bandwagon as of late. I will probably fall off it again, but that is what life is about. Taking your struggles to Jesus and digging deep down and getting back to it.

Can I leave you with some encouragement?

I just wanted to take a second and share one of my favorite verses-I will share why this has become one of my favorites and how it ties into this blog name soon!

This version is from The Message and was retrieved from the biblegateway.com:                                                 417614_10150596051541806_1618798859_n I took this picture on a friend’s phone back in 2012.

“I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples” John 15:5
